THE PGA EuroPro Tour returns to action on Wednesday, with a full house of 168 players taking part in The Swallow Suffolk Open.
With Australian John Wade, who qualified for The Open last week, not in action at Bury St Edmunds, his competitors will have a chance to close in on the Order of Merit leader.
Erewash Valley’s Mark Smith is among those players as he chases his first victory of the PGA EuroPro Tour season.
Smith finished second at the Swallow Suffolk last year – two shots behind winner Tim Rice, who carded a superb -19.
David Fisher, who won The Marriott Sprowston Manor Open a fortnight ago, will hope to complete the double this week, while the 2004 China Fleet International Open winner Sam Pigott is back in action on the PGA EuroPro Tour.
Australian Daniel Gaunt warmed up for the tournament in style by shooting a three-under-par 69 in Tuesday’s Pro-Am.
Fisher and Graham Rankin shot -2, with Matthew Woods a shot further back ahead of four players who carded a level par round.
