A ROUND of 66 on Thursday has seen Darren Prosser move into the lead during the second day of The Swallow Suffolk Open.
Prosser began his challenge in Bury St Edmunds with a 71 on the first day, and following that with an impeccable six-under-par 66.
His second round included four birdies and an eagle at the fifth hole to put him two shots clear.
Sean Whiffin shot a 69 on Thursday to move out to -5 alongside overnight joint leader Chris Stanley, who was among the players to tee off during the afternoon.
Justin Kehoe, who was level with Stanley after the opening day, slipped to -2 with a three-over-par round of 75.
Mark Banning and David James moved themselves into contention with rounds of 68 on Thursday, with a 70 from Lee Corfield seeing him join James at -3.
Alex Lucas earned a place at the end of season Peugeot Hole In One Challenge with an ace at the par three seventh – a hole he bogeyed in his first round!
