Singing In The Rain!

Perhaps following the lead of the Players Championship at Sawgrass last weekend, the PGA EuroPro Tour’s prospective stars were delayed by the rain before the Sky Sports Qualifying School could begin at Frilford Heath.

Over an inch of rain fell at the Oxfordshire course in 24 hours before play finally began shortly after 1pm on Wednesday.

Head Groundsman Sid Arrowsmith and his team have done an outstanding job to get the course into a playable condition, squeegeeing greens and clearing bunkers of the pools of water which had collected.

It is now anticipated that play will not finish until Friday, with the final opening round tee time set at 7.10pm on Wednesday.

Those players teeing off late will be unable to finish their round due to daylight but will return at 8am on Thursday morning to complete their rounds.

They players will then go out again in the afternoon and play will finish on Friday.
