This venue has been the curtain-raiser for the campaign for the last three years and the 2007 event was won by Ireland's Colm Moriarty (pictured right with Basil Todd of Wensum Valley).

A number of venues have been confirmed to host events next year and the Tour will be returning to Bovey Castle in Devon, Stoke-by-Nayland in Essex, The Players Club in Bristol and the Whittlebury Park Golf Club in Northamptonshire.

Danny Nickless, operations manager of the PGA EuroPro Tour, believes Wensum Valley, which hosts a competition from April 30 to May 2, 2008, provides a perfect start to the season.

He said: "The Tour is delighted to be returning to Wensum Valley next year for our first event.

"We're always welcomed very warmly by the club and their hospitality is fantastic. Basil and his team always make a huge effort for the week and I know the players enjoy playing at Wensum, which is a good test with some great holes.

"We always have a good turn out from local people and, as the Tour grows, we hope this improves each year. I thank Wensum for their continued support and look forward to a great event next April."

Before the event at Wensum Valley, there will be two rounds of Qualifying School. The opening phase will run from April 9 to April 11 at four different venues - The Bedford (Bedfordshire), Stoke-by-Nayland (Essex), The Players Club (Bristol) and Forest Pines (North Lincolnshire).

The final qualifying round will be staged from April 16 to April 18 at the Frilford Heath Golf Club in Oxfordshire, the venue which hosted the final stage of the 2007 qualifying.
