The 18th at Mar Menor

The Tour Championships, the biggest and final event of the 2011 PGA EuroPro Tour season, will be sponsored by 888poker.com.

After 12 events of the campaign, the top 60 players in the Order of Merit have qualified for the event, which will be staged from October 5 to October 7 and could change their golfing careers.

It will be held at the prestigious Intercontinental Mar Menor Golf Resort in Murcia, Spain, a course designed by legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus.

Each golfer will be playing three rounds, there is no cut, and the top five players on the money list after the tournament will secure their spots on next season’s Challenge Tour.

Only Chris Hanson and Graeme Clark are secured places in the top five with the three remaining positions currently occupied by Luke Goddard, Jamie Abbott and James Busby, who has finished twice on three occasions this season.

However, competition will be fierce and all of the entrants will be hopeful of winning the event and catapulting themselves to the next level in golf and be only one step away from joining Europe’s elite on the main European Tour.
