Balmaseda tops European Tour Q School in France - 27/09/2009
Carlos Balmaseda won the French leg of section B of the European Tour Qualifying School to join a large number of EuroPro Tour players made it through to the second stage. 
The Spaniard (pictured), who has featured on the Tour this year, carded a final round 66 in his overall score of 22 under to win by five strokes at the Golf de Moilets in south west France. Balmaseda headed the list of 26 players to reach the second stage at the venue, along with fellow EuroPro Tour players Cian McNamara, Alex Belt and Neil Walker.
In Germany, James Gill finished in third place to book his spot in the second stage at Fleesensee G & CC where James Gill, Zane Scotland, Daniel Wardrop, Tiago Cruz and Lee Corfield among the 31 players to progress.
Graeme Clark's fine year continued at The Oxfordshire where he finished in second spot and was joined by Paul Doherty, Jamie Harris, Sean Whiffin, Adam Frayne, Nicky Harris and Peter Richardson in reaching the second stage.
The second stage of the European Tour Q School takes place at four courses in Spain in November, with the final also in Spain later in the month.
