Bennett Close To European Tour Return - 29/05/2007
PGA EUROPRO TOUR member Warren Bennett is on course to reclaim his European Tour card after four rounds of Qualifying School Final Stage at San Roque.
Bennett (pictured) is leading a trio of current members in the top 30 and on course for a Tour Card, should he hold his position come Thursday evening.
Bennett is sat at -9 in fourth place alongside Notah Begay III following four rounds in Spain.
He opened with rounds of 69 and 67 before carding a level par 72 on Monday and a 71 for his fourth round.
Bennett is comfortably among the top 30, while former PGA EuroPro Tour members Matthew King, Sam Little (both -5) and Stuart Davis (-2) are also in line to pick up Tour Cards.
Matthew Richardson, a winner on the 2006 PGA EuroPro Tour, joined Davis among nine players at -2 following rounds of 73, 71, 68 and 74.
Daniel Denison, who turned professional earlier this year, is also in contention to step straight onto the main European Tour.
He is among 11 players tied for 29th place at -1 going into the final two rounds.
Euan Little, Ally Mellor, Liam Bond and Inder van Weerelt all need to improve over the final two days to force their way into contention.
PGA EuroPro Tour champion Stuart Cage suffered heartbreak by dropping three shots in his final two holes to miss out on Tuesday's cut by two shots at +5.
