Butterfield Out In Front - 09/05/2008
ANDREW BUTTERFIELD will take a one-shot lead in to the final day of The Matchroom Golf Management Classic after a second round 67 (five-under-par) to take his overall score to 132 (12-under-par).
Butterfield (Chislehurst), who had shared top spot with Graham Rankin after Day One, made six birdies and one bogey despite problems with his putting.
Scotsman Graham Fox moved in to outright second place with a six-under-par 66 which featured seven birdies and a bogey - gaining a shot on both of the last two holes to move clear of the chasing field.
Rankin, along with Scott Stevens (Chislehurst) and Craig Billing (BarterCard) are all on 134 (10-under-par) and remain in contention for the top £10,000 prize.
Stevens was helped on his way by an eagle at the tenth whilst Rankin claimed he was playing as well as he had done for two years.
Billing was the star of the day with an eight-under-par round of 64 which followed on from an opening round 70.
Nine birdies and only one bogey overall saw him go out in 29 and only make 22 putts in total!
57 players made the cut and will contest the final day's play.
