Clark Holds Narrow Cushion - 20/11/2007
GRAEME CLARK leads by one shot from Dean Barnes going into the final round of The Whittlebury Park International Open.
The Doncaster golfer produced a second successive round of 66 at the Towcester golf course to move into the tournament lead at -10.
He is one shot clear of Barnes, who was one of two players to record a superb round of 65 on Friday, jumping from three-under-par to -9.
"It was very windy and that make the course play differently but I was pretty solid," said Ferndown golfer Barnes.
"I hit most of the greens and managed to keep the ball under the wind where I could. I grew up playing on a course similar to this, so I just used my experience and it paid off."
PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit leader Simon Robinson was the other player to fire in a 65, putting himself out to -8, with Phil Rowe - who shot a 68 - and Mark Smith (69) a further shot behind.
David Clark and Joe Templer are in contention at -6, while overnight leader Mark Day slipped from -7 to two-under-par with a disappointing 76.
A total of 51 players made the cut at +2, including Whittlebury Park professional Mark Booth, who followed up a level par opening round with a 70 on Friday.
Former England international footballer Lee Dixon failed to make the cut, ending his first outing on the PGA EuroPro Tour on +17 after a 77 on Friday.
