Collingtree Park curtain-raiser underway - 06/05/2003

The opening tournament of the 2009 PGA EuroPro Tour - The Michael Ward UK Open - is underway at Collingtree Park in Northampton.

It marks the first day of Sky Bet's full involvement of the Tour, and overnight the official bookmakers of the Tour were forced to move Kettering pro and former order of merit winner Simon Lilly into 33/1 from 70s - making him the joint favourite with Matthew Ford (pictured).

Last year's Tour was dominated by the Irish and 2009 has started in kind, with Cian McNamara leading in the clubhouse with a three-under 69.
