Dixon To Play On PGA EuroPro Tour - 24/11/2007

FORMER Arsenal and England footballer Lee Dixon has been given the chance to test his golfing skills alongside the future stars of the sport on the PGA EuroPro Tour.

Dixon, who won 22 caps for his country during a glittering career, is also a more than competant golfer, possessing a handicap of two.

He linked up with the PGA EuroPro Tour by playing in the Pro-Am ahead of The Whittlebury Park International Open.

However, his display impressed the owners of the Towcester golf course, who had a remaining Sponsor's Exemption and invited him to compete in the main event, which began on Thursday.

Dixon, who will play alongside Jamie Farnsworth and Fraser Kelley, tees off his first round at 12.05pm on Thursday and his second round at 7.30am on Friday.
