Duo Edge Clear - 16/09/2007
DANIEL GAUNT and Euan Little share the lead going into the final round of the Verde Golf Azores Championship - following a tortuous day at Batalha GC.
The pair are the only players sat below par, with strong winds gusting at up to 40 miles per hour on Friday, along with rain showers over the Azores, making conditions tough.
Australian Gaunt - the winner of The Peugeot International last year - carded a level par 72 on Friday, while Little slipped from -2 overnight to join him in the lead.
Graham Gordon (70,75) and Darren Prosser (72, 73) sit behind them at one over par, with John E Morgan, Damian Mooney, John Wells, Matthew Ford and Dan Wood a further shot back.
Australia's Anthony Summers hit the day's best round with a 69 to follow up a 79 on Thursday - earning him a place in Saturday's deciding round.
The cut has been set at +7, with overnight leader Matthew Woods just among the 50 player to progress to the third and final round.
He followed up his 69 with an 82 on Friday to sneak in, while joint first round leaders Andrew Rudge and Michael Searle carded rounds of 80.
Portugese star Antonio Sobrinho is sat on +4 after following up his level par opening round with a 76 on Friday.
