European Open course to host Players Championship - 08/02/2007
The PGA EuroPro Tour will play one of Europe's finest courses when the East Sussex National hosts the Players Championship in August.
This year's Tour members will tackle the East course at the magnificent venue which hosted the European Open in 1993 and 1994, and has tested some of golf's great names over the years. It will provide a fantastic opportunity for the Tour's elite to test their game, with the final hole on the course regarded by the pros as one of the toughest around.
Along with the high quality playing conditions, the off-course facilities are second to none, with excellent Clubhouse facilities and the newly built four-star East Sussex National Hotel, one of the most luxurious hotels in the South of England.
Danny Nickless, operations manager for the Tour said: "I am delighted to confirm that East Sussex National will play host to our Players Championship on August 20 to 22. It really is one of the finest resorts in Europe and it is a genuine testament to our Tour and what it has achieved that they chose the PGA EuroPro Tour. East Sussex National is a wonderful golf course and the players are in for a great treat and a real test. We will be confirming the final few courses shortly and there are some exciting venues yet to be announced that will add to what is by far our strongest schedule ever released."
The PGA EuroPro Tour Qualifying School begins on April 9 at courses in Bedfordshire, Essex, Bristol and North Lincolnshire, with the final round at Frilford Heath in Oxfordshire on April 16.
