Evans Lands Brand New Peugeot - 01/06/2007
JONATHAN EVANS is the proud owner of a brand new Peugeot 207, after winning the 2006 Peugeot Hole-In-One Shoot-Out.
Evans was one of the six players to land a hole-in-one during the 2006 PGA EuroPro Tour season.
With John Morgan ill, the remaining five player lined up on the 18th tee at Batalha GC, with 165 yards to the pin.
Evans shot to 35 feet, five inches with his first of three shots, with Lee Wood inside at 26 feet, one inch and David Astin landing at 37 feet, four inches.
Both Kenny Stephenson and Lewis Genney missed the green.
Evans was the only player to better his first effort when the players returned for the second shot - hitting a superb shot to three feet, seven inches.
Genney was the only player to put any pressure on that, when his third shot landed at ten feet.
"I'm delighted," said Wentworth's Evans. "I was surprised to get the hole-in-one at Whittlebury Park, and this is a bonus for us all to play off.
"I was really pleased with my second shot and there are nerves when the other guys stepped up, but luckily it was good enough."
