Former Tour Dutchman flying at Q School - 14/11/2008

Former EuroPro Tour winner Inder van Weerelt is tied for second after the first round of final qualifying for the European Tour in Spain.

The Dutchman is one of four players a shot at five under and a stroke behind leader Oskar Henningson after 18 holes at PGA Golf de Catalunya's red and green courses.

Van Weerelt won the Cardrona Classic on the 2004 EuroPro Tour (pictured) and went on to finish seventh in the order of merit, with three second place finishes the following year ending with a ninth place finish.

Simon Thornton (Royal County Down) finished ninth on this year's order of merit and has made a fine start in Spain, with his three under round of 69 placing him tied in 19th spot - with the top 30 and ties earning their European Tour cards. There's still five days to go and we will keep the site updated with the progress of the EuroPro Tour players.
