Hole In One For Ali - 02/12/2007

YASIN ALI shot a superb hole in one during a round of 67 on Thursday to put himself in contention at The Golf Pages Classic.

Ali, representing the Nad Al Sheba Club, Dubai, saw his tee shot at the par-three 17th 'slam dunk' into the hole for a tremendous eagle.

That helped him to a second round score of -3 to put him among the chasing pack at Mollington after a level par opening round of 70.

David James also shot a 67 on Thursday, moving him out to -4 for the tournament.

Sam Pigott, Michael Nesbit, Joe Templer, Richard Johnson and Paul McKechnie produced rounds of 68, while five other early starters shot one-under-par rounds of 69.

Overnight leaders Simon Robinson and Kieran Staunton were among the afternoon starters.
