Jamieson 12/1 to claim Formby Hall title - 17/08/2009

Scott Jamieson moved to the top of the 2009 PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit with victory in The ABC Solutions Championship at Wychwood Park in Crewe last week, and he is the 12/1 favourite with Sky Bet to win his third event of the year at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa in Liverpool, starting on Wednesday August 19.

Jamieson's (pictured) latest win followed his first £10,000 winner's cheque at The PartyPoker.com European Championship at Prince's Golf Club in June and he took over from Daniel Brooks at the top of the money list with his win in Crewe. Brooks (Mill Hill) finished third in The ABC Solutions Championship and is 22/1 to win in Liverpool, with runner-up James Ruebotham (Welwyn Garden City GC) 25/1 for victory.

European Tour stalwart Andrew Marshall and Elliot Saltman (Aegon) are the joint second favourites for the event at 20/1, while Daniel Gaunt (Burhill GC) joins Brooks at 22/1. Recent winner Graeme Clark (Doncaster GC), Martin Sell (Golf Analysis Ltd) and Paul Dwyer (Clitheroe) accompany Ruebotham at 25/1.

Formby Hall is the tenth event on the 2009 Tour and with just two events after Liverpool, the £10,000 first prize is crucial in the hunt for a top five place to get onto the 2010 Challenge Tour. Danny Nickless, operations manager for the PGA EuroPro Tour, said: "With only a couple of events left, Formby Hall could prove decisive in setting out the top five places this year. It's a fine venue with a challenging course and the winner there will have to play to the best of their abilities to take home first prize."
