After appearing in the John Deere Classic in July, he flew back into the UK to win The Squibb & Davies Demolition Classic at Players Club in his home town of Bristol.
He went on to be the only player in 2006 to record a second PGA EuroPro Tour victory when he took a seven-shot win in The MCP Classic at Ufford Park earlier this month.
Morgan will head the field at The Azores Tour Championship on Saturday, when the top 50 players in the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit battle it out for €100,000 in prize money in the final event of 2006.
"I've got a long way to go and this is hopefully the tip of the iceberg for me," said Morgan.
"I didn't expect anything like this on my year coming back - I didn't know what to expect because it's been a hard time, and an emotional time.
"But to come back and do as well as I have done has surprised me - in a good way!
"To get a second win is great and hopefully I can get a grand finale in the Azores!"
The 28-year-old's preparations were disrupted earlier this week when he suffered a siezure in The Azores, however the tournament favourite with SkyBet is expected to be fully fit to tee off in Saturday's first round.
After The Azores Tour Championship, Morgan will then compete in European Tour Qualifying School in a bid to make an immediate return to Europe's top level.
And he concedes that watching the recent Ryder Cup win has fired his ambition to get back to the top of the sport.
"I want to get back to where I think I belong, on the European Tour, and even onto the Ryder Cup stage," he said.
"I want that in 2010 if I can get it at Celtic Manor, so my fingers are crossed.
"I've been at a level where you can get yourself into contention to be picked, but unfortunately I didn't play very well. Now, hopefully I can get into contention.
"Celtic Manor's almost next door to where I live, just over the water, so it would be nice to play in it.
"That's a fairytale ending - it would be awesome."
