No swinging in the rain - 15/08/2003

Abysmal weather conditions at the Ivobank PGA EuroPro Tour event at Whittlebury Park forced the players off the course just after 2pm.

The heavens opened in Northamptonshire and the players were forced to trudge off through a torrential downpour. Tournament officials will be making an announcement to the players at 3.30pm - although the rain is still falling heavily and is showing no signs off stopping.

Robert Perrert (Clevedon GC) is nice and dry in the club and leads the way at three under, with four players tied at two under - Ryan Harrison (Bramley GC) is in the clubhouse, Simon Thornton (Royal County Down) has played through 16, Robert Steele (Kenilworth GC) has completed 12 holes and Ben Montgomery (Frinton GC) birdied the second and third holes before coming off.

A further update will appear on the site when the PGA make an announcement.
