Norfolk brightens up for Harris run - 01/05/2002

The weather picked up for the second round at Wensum Valley in Norwich and the players made hay while the sun shone.

Jamie Harris (Tonbridge GC) took the clubhouse lead at three under, shooting four under for the day, with six birdies in total. Michael Hempstock played in his three-ball and shot two under for the day to move to level par after 36 holes, a shot behind Northern Irishman Damian Mooney at one under.

Conditions were easier all round up to lunchtime, with the 18th proving to be a nice hole to finish on, with many players picking up shots at the last. With 50 players completing their rounds so far, the projected cut so far is five over, although the last few groups to come in have said the wind is picking up, mking controlling the ball tricky, and there is a bit of rain in the air too.
