Open Disappointment For Frayne - 01/08/2007

ADAM FRAYNE'S challenge in The Open suffered a disappointing end on Friday when he failed to make the cut after a second round 81.

The St Mellion star shot a fine 71 on the opening day of the tournament to put himself in a good position.

However, his challenge faded on day two, with a double bogey at the par four third an early dent.

He shot seven successive pars before dropping a further shot at the 11th and then hitting another double bogey at the 14th.

He bogeyed the 16th before finishing with an eight at the last to end on 81 for the round and miss the cut to finish at +9 for the tournament.
