Open Joy For Frayne & Bladon - 10/08/2007
PGA EUROPRO TOUR members Adam Frayne and Warren Bladon are among the 12 players to qualify for The Open following the final round of Local Final Qualifying on Tuesday.
Frayne, the winner of the Oceanico International Open in May, finished in third place in the West Lancashire stage of the event.
After an opening round of 69, he finished with a 73 to hang on to the final qualifying spot, behind Nick Ludwell - a winner on the 2002 PGA EuroPro Tour - and Gary Lockerbie.
Paul Curry, who won the Bartercard Stoke by Nayland International Open in June, and current PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit leader Daniel Gaunt missed out by one and two shots respectively.
Bladon finished tied second in the Conwy stage of qualifying with rounds of 70 and 72 to win a place in The Open alongside Jon Bevan and Mikko Ilonen.
Sandeep Grewal and Mark Ramsdale were among the players behind them, although the chasing pack finished three shots behind the qualifiers.
Gary Day, another 2002 PGA EuroPro Tour member, was the winner of the Wallasey event, with a level par 72 on the second day after a 67 on Monday, with amateur Danny Denison and Markus Brier also qualifying.
Andrew Marshall, the winner of 2005's PartyPoker.com Classic at Wensum Valley, was among the three qualifiers at Formby, along with Jim Payne and Darren Parris.
