Prime Time Recruitment Championship Next Up - 30/06/2007
THE PGA EuroPro Tour returns to Marriott Hollins Hall in West Yorkshire on Wednesday for The Prime Time Recruitment Championship.
Daniel Gaunt (pictured) took victory when the PGA EuroPro Tour last visited the Baildon course last summer, winning by two shots from Graeme Clark and Mark Smith.
That trio will head a field of 168 competitors this time around, with a number of players hoping to triumph in their home county.
Chris Hanson is the leading Yorkshireman in the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit, having already taken one title and had two other top-ten finishes.
Cookridge Hall's Stuart Cage, Garforth's Stephen Pullan, Beverley's John Wells and Hedben Bridge professional David Astin are also likely to be in contention.
James Sibbles, Terry Brushwood and Brian Rumney will represent Marriott Hollins Hall in the tournament.
With only two tournaments remaining following the visit to Yorkshire, the battle for places in the top 50 of the Order of Merit - which earn a place in The Azores Tour Championship - is hotting up.
"There is a lot of competition for places in the Order of Merit and players will be keen to perform as well as possible at Hollins Hall," said PGA EuroPro Tour Managing Director Eddie Hearn.
"With the European Tour Qualifying School also looming on the horizon, players know that form will be important in the next couple of months.
"Marriott Hollins Hall always provides a good test for the players and I'm sure this week's event will be no different.
"We would also like to thank Prime Time Recruitment for their backing of this event and the future stars of golf."
