Prince's Golf Club to host PGA EuroPro Tour - 04/02/2009
The PGA EuroPro Tour is pleased to announce that the Tour will visit Prince's Golf Club in Kent for an event in June.
The Sandwich venue hosted The Open Championship in 1932 and continues to be a regular venue for The Open Championship final qualifying, last holding that in 2003 and preparing to host it again in 2011 when Royal St George holds The Open Championship. As well as hosting other high profile professional, senior and amateur competitions, Princes will be welcoming the EuroPro Tour back to the South East after hosting an event in 2002.
"Prince's Golf Club is pleased to welcome back the PGA EuroPro Tour, where the players can be assured of a warm welcome on a tough golf course," said Bill Howie, Director of the Prince's Leisure Group.
The PGA EuroPro Tour event will take place over the Shore and Dunes courses beginning on Tuesday June 9 and finishing on Thursday June 11. The course will be open practice rounds on Sunday with the Pro-Am the following day.
"Prince's Golf Club is one of the most challenging venues in British golf and we're delighted that the Tour will return there this summer," said Danny Nickless, operations manager of the Tour. "The standard of play is going from strength to strength and the players will be tested to their fullest potential when they tackle Prince's in June."
The deadline for entries for the Qualifying School for the 2009 Tour is Tuesday March 17 - for more information on how to apply, click here.
