THE 12th event of the 2007 PGA EuroPro Tour comes from Ufford Park, Suffolk with competition hotting up to secure a place at the end of season Tour Championships.

Only the top 50 players in the Order of Merit after a further two more competitions will qualify for the traditional last tournament of the campaign.

Every pound earned could prove crucial and each of the 133 competitors at Ufford Park will be confident of performing well.

They will all play a round on Wednesday and Thursday with the leading 50 plus ties advancing into the third round on Friday.

Among the field are 14 of the current top 16 in the Order of Merit, including Irishman Michael McDermott (pictured above), who won when a tour event was held at the nearby Stoke-by-Nayland club in North Essex in June.

Other notable entrants including 2001 Volvo PGA Championships winner Andrew Oldcorn and Welsh amateur Rhys Davies, who will be playing in the Walker Cup next month.

Local interest will focus on Ufford Park member Stuart Robinson, who will be making his first appearance in a 2007 PGA EuroPro Tour event.
