Rain Dampens Spirits In Derby - 31/12/2007

HEAVY rain across Derbyshire has affected the second round of The Oakley International Open at Morley Hayes GC.

PGA EuroPro Tour officials were forced to delay the start of day two due to the overnight rain, and further storms have led to poor visability and tough conditions.

Joint overnight leader Yasin Ali followed up his opening round 64 with a 73 on Thursday to slip to -7 following 36 holes.

Michael Searle remains at -6 after a level par 72, while Stephen Pullan is sat a shot further back following a 69 for his second round.

Richard Squire, David James and Jason Kelly slipped to -3 after 36 holes with respective rounds of 75, 73 and 74.

Simon Robinson, who was level with Ali at -8 overnight, was one of the later starters, along with Grant Hamerton, Ian Walley, Ben St John and Darren Henley.
