Rocket Robert Blows Away Field At Ufford - 10/11/2007

England's Robert McGuirk produced a stunning second round performance firing a ten-under par 61 to hold a four shot lead going into the final round of the Ufford Park Classic.

Starting the day at +2, McGuirk made six birdies and two eagles in his faultless round, taking him to -8 for the tournament, smashing John Wade's course record by two shots.

"It was an unbelievable day." Commented McGuirk. "It was just one of those days when the putter was red hot. I got up and down for pars at the first three holes and then got on a great run and didn't look back. I'm hoping the weather will hold up tomorrow so I can just go out and hopefully continue from where I left off. I'm really looking forward to it and am just going to play my own game and see what happens."

2005 winners David Fisher, Daniel Gaunt and Mark Smith are amongst the seven players chasing McGuirk at -4 while Graham Fox posted an impressive 64 to sit a shot further back at -3.

57 players made the cut at +3 with Order of Merit leader Simon Robinson at +2. For full scores please click on Score Updates and go to Ufford Park.
