Slam-Dunk Morgan Powers Clear - 12/06/2007

JOHN MORGAN landed a hole-in-one during a brilliant round of 63 to move clear of the pack during round two of The MCP Classic at Ufford Park.

Morgan, who shared the overnight lead at -4 following an opening round of 66, produced some sensational play at the Suffolk course on Thursday.

He included a hole-in-one, seeing his nine-iron tee shot "slam dunk" into the cup at the 150 yard 16th.

His round of 63 moved him out to -11 and puts him in a great position to secure a second PGA EuroPro Tour win of 2006.

Morgan's 63 was matched in a flawless round by Roger Winchester, who landed an eagle and five birdies to move out to five-under-par, a shot behind Darren Prosser (69,65).

The quartet of Kevin Harper, Nathan Treacher, Matt Morris and Craig Smith shot rounds of 68 for the second successive day to move to -4.

Further news will be issued at the close of the second round.
