That's The Wade To Do It! - 18/04/2008
AUSTRALIAN John Wade took the honours at the final event of the regulation PGA EuroPro Tour season as he won The Ufford Park Classic in Suffolk. 
Wade had got his nose in front during the second round and a final day score of 68 (two-under-par) was enough to edge out the challenge of his closest rivals as he finished on 199 (11-under-par).
In the end, it was a final hole birdie that proved decisive as Wade claimed the £10,000 winner's cheque to climb to seventh on the Order of Merit.
With only the Tour Championship remaining on the calendar, the victory rounded off a successful season for Wade, who admitted he was delighted with his form.
"I broke the course record with a 63 on my second round and it's great to finally win an event after a few high finishes, he said.
"I was keeping my eyes on the score board but when I glanced up and saw my name on top I hit a really poor drive!
"A five foot putt for birdie on the last hole was enough for me though and I'm thrilled to have won.
"I've played on the European Tour and won pro events before but the standard of golf on the EuroPro Tour is great and it's the perfect place for me to learn my trade."
Darren Prosser (Flint Schmidt/Shifnal GC) finished as runner-up after picking up four shots over his final round to end up one behind Wade.
Prosser will be competing at both the European and US Tour Schools over the coming weeks and will be confident of making an impression at both events. Lewis James (ISM Ltd) was outright third a further shot behind, recording his highest finish since turning pro earlier in the year.
