Thornton in control after Bowden's water torture - 19/06/2008

Simon Thornton leads the way at five under at the Bovey Castle Championship in Devon - with a bit of help from an 11 from playing partner Gregory Bowden.

Thornton picked up a birdie on the 12th to move to five under while Bowden - leading going into 12 - found the water and shot 11, ending his chances of success.

Irishman Thornton (Royal County Down) is aiming to be the fourth Irish winner on the Tour this year and his fellow countryman Noel Fox shot 67 today to take his score to two under for the tournament.
