The fourth event of the PGA EuroPro Tour season takes place this week as the Tour moves to the north east of England.
More than 150 players will be competing at The Rusty’s Travel Classic at Longhirst Hall, Northumberland from Wednesday to Friday with £10,000 going to the winner.
Eight of ten top ten on the Order of Merit will be taking part, including Chris Hanson and Stuart Archibald, winners of the last two events at Bovey Castle and Burhill respectively. Longhirst Hall
However, it promises to be a tough few days for all players with heavy rain forecast for Wednesday and showers expected on Thursday.
Hanson, who ended a five-year wait to win by one shot last week, has been installed as the betting favourite by Skybet.com.
This is the second time the Tour has held an event at Longhirst Hall after a successful tournament in 2010 where Archibald triumphed over Matt Allen in a play-off.
All the action from Longhirst Hall will be filmed and Matchroom sport will produce a two-hour highlights package, which will be broadcast on Sky Sports on Wednesday, July 6.
The top five players at the end of the season will advance to the Challenge Tour and be one step away from playing alongside Europe’s elite on the main tour.
