The PGA EuroPro Tour will play one of Europe's finest courses when the Oceanico Golf resort in the Algarve hosts the tour in July.
The world's best young golfers will face two tough courses in three days - the Victoria and the Millennium. The Victoria Golf Club course is Portugal's premier golf venue, designed by Arnold Palmer and for the second year running hosting the PGA European Tour Portugal Masters in October, with Steve Webster winning the inaugural event in 2007. The last time the PGA EuroPro Tour had an event in Portugal, Adam Frayne (pictured) took the Oceanico International Open at the Morgado Golf Club in May 2006.
The new venue on the Tour also has a new Pro-Am format similar to the Dunhill Links, with details to be confirmed. There will be 200 professional slots.
Danny Nickless, operations manager of the PGA EuroPro Tour, said: "We are absolutely delighted that Oceanico will be supporting the PGA EuroPro Tour yet again in 2008. Oceanico are amazing supporters of not just the Tour but golf in general. Having Vilamoura on our schedule really does emphasise that the tour is going from strength to strength. I have been lucky enough to play both the Millennium and the Victoria and not only will they be a great test for our players but a real treat as well as they really are world class courses.
"With the exciting new format we really are breaking new ground. I am sure the event will be a huge success and I would like to thank Oceanico for their continued support."
