Wade Back On Top - 29/02/2008
JOHN WADE roared into the lead at The Uplands Classic in Bristol, with a second round 68 helping him to move two shots clear at -5.
The Australian, who won The Kronenbourg Classic last week at Whitekirk, was one of four players to shoot a 68 in the second round of the Players Club tournament.
Defying a bout of 'flu, he included ten birdies in his round to move two strokes clear of James Hepworth, who sits on -3 after a second round 69.
Wentworth's Ross Fisher also shot a 68 on day two to sit alone at -2, with four other players one stroke further back.
A total of 50 players made the cut at +5, with the round of the day coming from Team Unleash's Dean Plant, who recovered from a first round 79 by hitting course record 65 to end on level par.
Following Barry Hume's hole-in-one on Wednesday, Michael Jones matched the feat by seeing his seven iron tee shot at the tenth bounce in.
That helped him to make the cut - just - with a 73 to add to his 76 on day one.
