Wade Hits The Front - 04/03/2008
JOHN WADE has taken the lead during the closing round of The Kronenbourg Classic at Scotland's Whitekirk.
With four holes remaining in the tournament, the Australian leads compatriot Daniel Gaunt by three strokes after moving out to -9.
Gaunt, the overnight leader who was still three shots clear at the turn on his final round, paid the price for a bogey at the eleventh hole before hitting a disastrous triple bogey on the twelfth.
Wade has hit four birdies so far in his round and is in pole position to take the title and condemn Gaunt to a second successive runner-up spot.
Mark Smith sits two shots behind Gaunt at -4, with Michael McDermott a further stroke behind.
A full report will be issued at the close of play at The Kronenbourg Classic.
