Weather Wipes Out Whitekirk Play - 23/08/2007
THE first day of The Kronenbourg Classic at Whitekirk was abandoned due to heavy winds on Wednesday evening.
Winds of 30-35mph and gusts of up to 45mph were recorded at the Scottish course during the first round of the PGA EuroPro Tour event.
Play was suspended late on Wednesday morning, and officials were forced to abandon hope of returning to the course at 6pm.
Play will resume at 7am on Thursday, with the first round continuing and the second round taking place before an expected cut on Friday morning.
No players finished their rounds, with Fraser Mann showing his talent in the windy conditions to record score of -1 after nine holes.
