Wells & Frayne Hold Two-Shot Cushion - 11/09/2007
JOHN WELLS and Adam Frayne sit two shots clear of the field going into the final round of the Oceanico International Open at Morgado.
The pair shot rounds of 67 for the second successive day to move out to -12 for the tournament, two strokes clear of Australian Daniel Gaunt.
For the second day running, Frayne landed four birdies and an eagle in a flawless round, while Wells dropped just one shot but hit a pair of eagles.
Gaunt shot six birdies to also card a 67 on Wednesday, following his opening round 69 to keep the pressure on the leaders.
Zane Scotland (69,68) and Jonathan Evans (70,67) are a further shot back, with Mark Laskey and Jason Kelly sat on -8.
Five players are five shots off the pace at -7, while Portugal's Ricardo Santos is among eight a shot further back.
Another Portuguese player, Hugo Santos, made the cut after following up his opening round 74 with a 69.
Rounds of 69 on Wednesday helped Ian Parnaby, Scott Stevens and Phil Rowe to make the cut at -2, with 52 players progressing to the final round.
