Willey Edges Clear At Mollington - 28/07/2007

ANDREW WILLEY holds a two-shot lead going into the final day of The GMS Classic at Mollington GC.

Willey, a winner on the 2005 PGA EuroPro Tour, shot nine birdies and an eagle in a superb round of 64 for his second round, dropping shots on just three holes.

He is two shots clear of Matthew Cort, who had four birdies in the first five holes on Thursday and added a further three in his round of 65, with a bogey at the eighth his only blemish.

James Ruebotham and David Price sit on -7 following the second round, with Matthew Richardson and Chris Hanson well place a further shot back.

Local duo Mark Ramsdale and Ian Keenan - who matched Willey's 64 for the joint lowest round of the day - are joined by Kevin Harper on five-under-par, with a further five players one shot behind.

A total of 55 players made the cut, which was set at one-over-par, with the remaining players challenging for the £40,000 prize fund on Friday.
