Woods Among Early Leaders In Azores - 18/09/2007

MATTHEW WOODS is among the early leaders during the first round of the Verde Golf Azores Championship, as one of a number of players sat on -3 after nine holes.

Woods was the winner in the PGA EuroPro Tour's opening event of 2006 recently, the Wensum Valley International Open.

He has made an impressive start to proceedings at Batalha GC in the Azores.

He is joined at three-under-par at the turn by Pat Devine, Damian Mooney and Noel Fox.

Former PGA Tour star John E Morgan and Daniel Gaunt, one of the stars of the 2005 PGA EuroPro Tour, are a further shot back.
