THE PGA EuroPro Tour will make a fourth appearance at Morley Hayes Golf Club next week for The Oakley International Open.

The world’s leading developmental golf tour has visited the Derby course for the past three years, with Simon Hurd winning last year’s tournament before progressing onto the European Tour.

The 168-man field will include Scotland’s Colin Mitchell, who was runner-up by one shot to Hurd last year after finishing the event on -14.

Home professionals James Whatley and Mark Marriott will represent Morley Hayes, and Simon Robinson – who won The Swallow Suffolk Open – will be looking to take back-to-back wins.

“We always look forward to playing tournaments at Morley Hayes, and this year is no exception,” said PGA EuroPro Tour Tournament Director Kevin Feeney.

“The course was in superb condition last year and I know the green staff have worked hard to improve it further this time around.

“Recent tournaments have gone right to the wire with some great finishes and I’m sure the standard will continue to rise in the Oakley International Open.”

In addition to the £10,000 first prize, the player who scores the lowest round on the final day will win a two-night break for two in the new hotel at Morley Hayes GC.
